Teen Knifed In Apartment Lobby In Manhattan, Police Say

Four suspects fled the scene after the attack.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Police are looking for suspects after a teenager was slashed with a knife in the lobby of an apartment building on the Upper West Side on Wednesday night, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the 16-year-old boy was inside the lobby of 400 West 61st Street, near the corner of Riverside Boulevard, at 10:46 p.m. when four perpetrators slashed him in his back, left shoulder and left wrist.

Then, the four perpetrators all ran away, heading toward West End Avenue, to parts unknown, and the victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition, police said.

Police sources told Patch that a knife was recovered at the scene and that the four suspects are all male.

One suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and red sweatpants, one suspect was in all black clothing, one was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and blue jeans, and the last suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, police sources said.
