Teenager Slashed On UWS 1 Train: Police
A teenage boy was hospitalized after being slashed on a 1 train on the Upper West Side on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY – A 17-year-old teenage boy was slashed on a 1 train near the 96th Street 1/2/3 station at Broadway on the Upper West Side on Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.
The incident, which happened at about 3:15 p.m., began as a verbal altercation between two teenagers, police said.
“They were in a verbal dispute, and then one guy slashed the other,” an NYPD spokesperson told Patch.

The victim was wounded in the left shoulder and the back, police said, and was transported to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition.
The victim and his suspected attacker – another 17-year-old teenage boy – are known to one another, authorities said.
