Mugger Shoots Tourist In Back On Upper West Side: Police, Reports

The Danish tourist was shot after refusing to hand over his cash on West End Avenue and 103rd Street about 3:30 a.m., NYPD and reports said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A tourist was shot in the back after he refused to hand over cash to an armed mugger on the Upper West Side, police and reports said.

The Danish tourist, 31, was walking back to his hostel near West End Avenue and West 103rd Street about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, when an armed man demanded his money, according to police and reports.

The tourist ignored the mugger and kept walking so the mugger to shot him in the back and ran away, police said.

The tourist was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in stable condition, police said.

There have been no arrests or further description of the shooter as of Monday morning.
