Two Cyclists Injured In Separate Incidents On UWS: Police
The two incidents occurred less than 30 minutes apart on the Upper West Side on Tuesday morning, police confirmed.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY – In separate incidents, two cyclists were struck by vehicles on the Upper West Side on Tuesday morning, the NYPD confirmed.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., a 64-year-old man was cycling southbound down Broadway near 108th Street when he was struck by a vehicle, police said.
The driver did not remain at the scene, but did say “sorry for hitting you,” before he or she drove away, according to the police.

The man was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, with injuries to his left arm and left leg, police said.
The incident is being investigated as a hit-and-run, police confirmed.

Second Incident
Just 20 minutes later, at approximately 8:50 a.m., another cyclist was hit by a vehicle at 106th Street and Central Park West, according to police.
A report on the second incident is still being finalized, and Patch will update this story when more information becomes available.

In 2023, cyclist deaths reached a 24-year high, when 30 were killed citywide.
