Counselors and campus ministers will be available to students and families "as we begin the process of grieving," DeLessio said, noting that the coming days may be especially difficult for the tight-knit community.
"We recognize their profound loss, and we are doing everything we can to support them during this unimaginable tragedy," DeLessio said.
More details about the circumstances of the fall have not yet been released. According to the New York Post, the teen had been waiting to speak to an administrator over a disciplinary matter when he fell.
"The sudden loss of a classmate can be a profoundly difficult experience for students and their families," DeLessio said.
"Please keep our Regis community in your prayers."
