Upper West Halloween: Costume Parade, Open Streets & More
From costumed fun to open street (and museum) trick-or-treating, here are the best and spookiest Halloween events on the UWS.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - Halloween on the Upper West Side might mainly be associated with lavishly decorated townhomes — which you can find simply by taking a walk in the neighborhood.
But there's more than just decorations on tap this week. In addition to costume- and candy-filled events, several Upper West Side streets will be opened up to trick-or-treaters as part of the city's “trick-or-streets": a one-day expansion of the Open Streets program.
Here are a few of the best and spookiest events on tap:

- Amsterdam Avenue Open Street (Cathedral Parkway to West 111th Street): 2 to 8 p.m.
- CMOM Epic Trick or Treat Quest: 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 29
- CMOM Epic Trick or Treat Quest: 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
- Fun Fit NYC Kids' Costume Party/Open Play: 2 to 3 p.m.
- Musical Halloween Costume Runway and Dance Party at CMOM: 4 p.m.
- Amsterdam Avenue Open Street (Cathedral Parkway to West 106th Street): 2 to 5 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 31
- Fun Fit NYC Kids' Halloween Party: 9:45 to 11:15 a.m.
- Hippo Playground Halloween Parade: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
- West 78th Open Street (Columbus Avenue to Amsterdam Avenue): 5 to 8 p.m.
- West 69th Open Street (Broadway to CPW): 6 to 8 p.m.
- West 90th Open Street (CPW to Columbus Avenue): 5 to 8 p.m.
- West 95th Open Street (Columbus Avenue to CPW): 5:30 to 8 p.m.
