UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — With the annual pie celebration that is Thanksgiving now just weeks away, Eater New York published a list of the best makers of the dessert in the city, and an Upper West Side bakery earned a spot on the ranking.

"This map is dedicated to a mix of bakeries offering pies year-round as well as those with holiday specials," the Eater NY staff wrote. "Here are 12 of the best."

  • Milk Bar Pie: A buttery, salty, sweet filling in a hearty oat-cookie crust.
  • Pumpkin Milk Bar Pie: It has the gooey consistency of a pecan pie mixed with pumpkin flavor.

Here's what the editors from Eater NY had to say about the Upper West Side bakery.

Rapidly expanding Milk Bar's namesake pie is its breakout hit," Eater NY wrote. "It has a gooey filling that essentially consists of butter, cream, and sugar in a toasted oat crust. One slice is likely all anyone can down, but whole pies are available at any of the many locations for celebratory occasions."
