The electronics company announced in late August that sales had dropped by nearly 13 percent in the second quarter of the 2022 fiscal year.
"We are clearly operating in an uneven sales environment," Best Buy CEO Corie Barry said in a statement at the time.
The retail giant still has more than 1,100 locations across the country.
The Target opening in recent years across the street from the West 62nd Street and Broadway Best Buy location also would not have helped business.
Most recently, the Best Buy location was in the news for a security guard getting pepper sprayed by a man trying to steal a laptop in October.
The now shuttered Best Buy commercial space is one of the larger in the area, and Patch will keep an eye out for any new business permits.
