The old-school Broadway Restaurant suffered serious damage during a fire on New Year's Day.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An old-school diner is reopening on the Upper West Side after suffering extensive fire damage in January, according to reports.

Broadway Restaurant, located on Broadway between West 101st and 102nd streets, will open its doors Wednesday for the first time since New Year's, the West Side Rag reported. The interior of the restaurant was burned out during a fire, but has been restored down to the same vintage seats and cushions, according to the report.

A fire broke out at the restaurant on the night of Monday, Jan. 1, according to a West Side Rag report from the next day. A resident in a building across the street from the diner told the publication that residents in apartments above the diner were evacuated into his building lobby while firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
