UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Upper West Side Goodwill store will close at the end of the month, the business recently announced with a sign on its door.

The donation store at 157 W. 72nd St., between Amsterdam and Columbus, will close on Sept. 25.

"Thank you to our neighbors for supporting our mission of employment and sustainability," the sign reads. "We will miss you."

The sign adds that the two nearest Goodwill stores to the Upper West Side are now on the Upper East Side at 1704 Second Ave. (88th Street), and 1114 First Ave. (61st Street).

There is no newly announced tenant for the address, but a different poster on the glass door called the 3,520 square-foot space a "prime retail opportunity."

The poster also highlights the addresses' basement space, HVAC system, and restaurant use availability.

A listing for the space calls the term and type of the lease negotiable, and the price rate available upon request.

The closure of the Goodwill location follows the shuttering in the past few years of the Curated by Goodwill store at 217 W. 79th Street, and the Salvation Army outpost at 268 W. 96th St.

For people still looking to donate clothes on the Upper West Side, Housing Works at 306 Columbus Ave. and 2569 Broadway — along with Central Park Resale at 22 W. 66th Street — are places to do so.
