Incredibly, Billy's Hot Dog Cart on the Upper West Side wasn't just named the top-rated hot dog spot in New York City but also the highest-rated hot dog seller in the United States, according to Google.

  1. Billy’s Hot Dog Cart, Upper West Side (ranked No. 1 state and nationwide).
  2. Skippy’s, Staten Island (ranked No. 2 statewide, No. 36 nationwide).
  3. My Mother’s Place, Ozone Park, Queens (ranked No. 11 statewide).

Billy's Hot Dog Cart is generally found on Central Park West between West 82nd and 103rd streets.

The Upper West Side cart is the only hot-dog shop in the country to have an average rating of five stars on Google. The second-place seller, Hotdogs Alvarado in Arizona, has an average rating of 4.98.

Billy's Hot Dog Cart's five-star average is made up of 122 reviews.

The cart unsurprisingly has a five-star review on Google, with 29 people sharing their thoughts on the stand.

The first five-star review is more of a short story than a review, with six paragraphs and 589 words of material.

"I don't just settle for any street vendor selling them.... take my word.... go to Billy on the corner of 93rd & Central Park West," Sharon from Anaheim writes. "First let's talk about the man. He is extremely nice and it's so pleasant to talk to him. He greets everybody with a smile, and enjoys doing what he does and it shows."

"The hotdogs are sooooo good," she added. "How good??? I walked 35 blocks from my hotel room every other day when I would go to Central Park and he would be my first stop to get lunch."

Other reviewers kept it simpler.

"Small cart on the corner," Bill from Portland, Oregon writes. "Amazing hot dogs! Took to Central Park and loved it! Thanks, Billy!"

The cart is also the 15th most-searched hot dog spot in the country and the fourth-highest searched in New York City.

The stand is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Sundays.

A noticeable omission from the list is the Upper West Side's Gray's Papaya, which is generally considered the king of the hot dog but was not featured on Google's list of the highest-rated establishments.
