UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - Polish your Blue Suede Shoes, Upper West Siders.

A new Elvis-themed pop up bar event is coming this Thursday and Friday from 4 to 11 p.m. at Pekarna (594 Amsterdam Ave.) and will feature limited-edition cocktails, Memphis-inspired tunes, a photobooth and Instagrammable decor inspired by Elvis’ home in - you guessed it - Memphis.

The retro pop up specifically pays homage to Elvis’ Jungle Room, used by the Presley family as a den and inspired by the star’s time in Hawaii.

The pop up event, sponsored by Memphis Tourism and Elvis Presley’s Graceland, will present iterations of the pop up in Boston and Chicago later this month.

“Memphis is a city of boundless creativity and soul - effortlessly blending nostalgia with modern influence and style, the culture of our destination has changed the world,” said Regena Bearden, Chief Marketing Officer at Memphis Tourism.

“That approach is what inspired the Jungle Room. We’re taking a slice of Americana and making it authentic and exciting to generations of travelers. After experiencing the Jungle Room and getting a taste of Memphis’ magic and vibe, we want that next step to be booking a trip to Memphis to experience the real thing.”

The legendary musician's Memphis mansion has been viewed by over 23 million visitors to date, according to statistics provided by Memphis Tourism. While in the city, music fans can also check out Sun Studios (where Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and others recorded songs) as well as the Stax Museum of American Soul Music.

Registration for the Upper West Side event is free and space is limited. Tickets are valid for one hour and 30 minutes inside of the bar.
