UWS Deliverymen Robbed For E-Bikes, Police Say
Two deliverymen were attacked and had their bikes stolen within three days.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Deliverymen working on the Upper West Side and Midtown during the holiday season were violently robbed for their electric bicycles, police said.
The NYPD is trying to identify two men in connection with two e-bike robberies that occurred withing three days in December, police said. Both robberies included the assault or threat of an assault of deliverymen who were using the vehicles on the job.
The first robbery occurred on the night of Christmas on Seventh Avenue near West 45th Street, police said. Two men grabbed a 55-year-old deliveryman from behind and said "give me your bike" while threatening the man with a knife, police said. The deliveryman was not injured during the robbery.

On the night of Dec. 28, the robbers struck on the Upper West Side. A 61-year-old deliveryman riding on West 108th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue was punched in the back of the head and robbed of his bike, police said. The man suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention, police said.
The suspects are both described as men in their 20s standing about 5-foot-11 with short black hair, police said. One of the robbers was last seen wearing a blue and gray jacket, a black hoodie, black pants and black shoes and the other was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black shoes and dark-colored ski goggles.
