UWS Motorcyclist Killed After Being Ejected From Bike: NYPD
A motorcyclist from the Upper West Side was killed Friday after he was ejected from his bike on the Henry Hudson Parkway, authorities said.
MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, NY - A motorcyclist from the Upper West Side was killed Friday after he was ejected from his bike on the Henry Hudson Parkway, authorities said.
Gregory Ahrens, 55, was driving northbound on the parkway near West 112th Street in the center lane about 7:38 p.m. when, in an attempt to change lanes, he rear-ended a 2016 Lexus RX450H, police said.
As a result of the crash, Ahrens was ejected from the bike and landed on the southbound center lane of the parkway, police said.

Medics rushed Ahrens to Mount Sinai Morningside, but he couldn’t be saved, police said.
The 61-year-old driver of the Lexus stayed at the scene. The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident, police said.
