UWS Subway Shovers Sought In Saturday Spat, NYPD Says

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - Two men who beat a straphanger before shoving him onto train tracks at an Upper West Side subway station Saturday morning are being sought by authorities.

The 32-year-old victim was riding a northbound 2 train about 2:30 a.m. when he and two other men started to engage in a verbal dispute, police said.

After exiting the 2 train at the Broadway and 72nd Street train station, the dispute escalated and became physical, with the assailants kicking and punching the victim numerous times before pushing the victim onto the train tracks, police said.

The individuals fled the location soon after; the victim suffered a broken nose and right middle finger as a result of the brawl, police said. Medics rushed the victim to St. Luke's Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

The first individual is described as a man with a medium build last seen wearing a red jacket and black pants.

The second individual is described as a male with a medium build last seen wearing all black clothing.
