Woman Dies After Scooter Crashes Into Motorcycle On UWS Highway: Cops

The woman lost control of her scooter Saturday, struck a divider on the West Side Highway, and landed in the opposite lane, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A woman died after losing control of her gas-powered scooter and crashing into a motorcycle on an Upper West Side highway, police said Sunday.

The woman, 48, lost control of her Amstar Marshal scooter on the northbound lane of the Henry Hudson Parkway near West 102nd Street about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, police said.

She crashed into a divider then a 2020 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle in the southbound lane, police said.

Medics rushed both riders to Mt. Sinai - St. Luke's Hospital, where the woman died and the 25-year-old man was listed in stable condition as of Sunday, police said.

The NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
