UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A woman was killed after being struck by a subway train on the Upper West Side Sunday evening, police said.

The tragic collision occurred inside the 72nd Street 1/2/3 Subway station about 10:40 p.m., police said.

A 911 call to police first reported a woman on the tracks, according to officials.

Arriving first responders discovered a woman, 59, on the uptown 1 train tracks unconscious and unresponsive, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Medics declared the woman dead at the scene, officials told Patch.

Police said there was no criminality suspected and that the victim's name was being withheld pending family notification.
