Woman Robbed At Gunpoint On UWS Monday Night, NYPD Says

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY - A woman was robbed at gunpoint near Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side Monday night, authorities said.

The 41-year-old victim was walking in the area of West 63rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue about 10:10 p.m. when two unidentified individuals threatened her with a gun and took her cell phone, credit cards and personal items, police said.

The individuals fled the area soon after, police said.

The victim did not report any physical injuries as a result of the incident.

No arrests have been announced as of Tuesday morning. The investigation remains ongoing.

As of Tuesday, New York City has 13,452 reported robbery incidents so far in 2023, according to city data. That's down about 5.1% from the same time the previous year.

In the 20th precinct where the robbery took place, police have seen 77 robbery incidents so far in 2023. That’s compared to 95 reported this time last year.
