Woman Sexually Assaulted In Central Park By Scooter-Rider: Police

A woman on a jog was grabbed and sexually assaulted by a man riding a Razor scooter on Saturday, officials said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man riding a Razor scooter sexually assaulted a woman jogging in Central Park early Wednesday evening, according to police.

The victim, a 30-year-old victim, told police she was jogging inside the park at about 6:30 p.m. near West Drive when the man approached her from behind on a blue Razor push scooter, officials said.

Suddenly, the man hopped of the scooter and grabbed the woman from behind, police said.

The man then rubbed himself against the woman, then grabbed his scooter and fled towards West 72nd Street and Central Park West, according to officials.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The victim described her assailant as around 20 to 25-years-old, about six feet tall and weighing around 165 pounds, officials said.

The NYPD also released an image that they say depicts a person of interest connected to the case.

This incident is being investigated by the NYPD’s Manhattan Special Victims Squad.
