Two students from the in Seaford were recently honored by the Town of Hempstead for their participation the 21st Annual Recycling Poster Contest sponsored by Covanta Energy.
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray presented certificate of recognitions to Maria Regina sixth grader Ashley Tasch and first grader Arielle Ristau. Tasch and Ristau were among the grammar school students Murray honored from several school districts for their outstanding creativity in illustrating the importance of recycling.
The ceremony honoring the Maria Regina students was held at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place.
