Wantagh Students Hold Coats for Kids Campaign

The  Student Council organized a school-wide coat drive this month to benefit families within the community.

Students at the elementary school in Wantagh partnered with Assemblyman David G. McDonough, R-North Merrick, for the annual "Coats for Kids" project. Student Council members encouraged their peers to sort through their closets and select winter jackets to donate to the drive.

Through their efforts, students collected more than 100 gently used and new coats for children and adults. Assemblyman McDonough visited Forest Lake to collect the outer garments, which will be cleaned and distributed by the Neighborhood Cleaners Association.
