The Physical Education Department recently sponsored a free CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and AED (automated external defibrillator) class supported by the Merrick-based Robbie Levine Foundation.
Over 70 students and staff members completed the class, where they learned essential life-saving skills and how to respond in emergency situations. During the hands-on training, participants worked with mannequins and practiced the proper techniques to ensure the safety of anyone who may be in distress. In addition, the students were introduced to advanced AED equipment and the role it plays during emergency situations.
Everyone who participated in the class received a certificate from the National Safety Council.
