Board of Education Accepts Donation to Restore First Part of Seaford Middle School Winter Athletics
A $43,000 check presented at Board of Education meeting to restore Seaford Middle School winter I sports season.
The Seaford Board of Education officially accepted a $43,000 donation to restore the first part of the Seaford Middle School winter sports season at its Thursday night meeting.
Save Seaford Sports, the organization to raising the necessary $141,000 needed to restore the cut middle school teams, has raised more than $43,000, which is enough to salvage the winter 1 athletics season that begins in mid November. Save Seaford Sports co president Risa Price presented Board of Education president Brian Fagan with a $43,000 check just prior to the trustee unanimously voting to accept the donation.
“Middle school athletics means so much to the students and they mean a lot to us,” said Seaford Superintendent of Schools Brian Conboy during the Board of Education meeting held at . “They compete with pride so thank you for saving for them and I know your work continues and we really appreciate everything.”

The winter 1 sports season at Seaford Middle School includes boys basketball, girls volleyball and cheerleading. Save Seaford Sports is now aiming to raise another $28,000, which would restore the winter sports II season that begins in mid January. An additional $70,000 would then be needed to bring back the middle school spring athletics season that starts in mid March.
