Celebrating the New Year on the South Shore

ou want to ring in 2014 in style, but making plans for New Year's Eve can be difficult.  Patch is here to help with some options not too far from home, including some options for the whole family.

Here's a few ways to ring in the new year:

Mulcahy's of Wantagh Will be Hosting there annual "New Weeds Eve" Party from 9 p.m. to midnight. It features Breakthru and Big Vin. Tickets are $35 per person and it includes Bud and Bud Light Bottles, mixed drinks and wine. There's also a complimentary buffet. Tickets are available at  the Mulcahy's Box Office and at Ticketweb.

Big Daddy's, the Massapequa Cajun joint will host a special buffet dinner starting at 9:30 p.m. It will include salad, gumbo, a choice of five entrees, dessert and unlimited premium cocktails fro, 9:30 p.m. to  12:30 a.m.  There will be live music by the "King Cobras." Maggies on Park, the bistro on Park Boulevard in Massapequa Park will be hosting a party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be music by "The Legendary Murphys" as well as dancing and an open bar. It will include a three course dinner and a champagne toast with a cost of $90 per person plus tax and gratuity. Call 516-798-1555.

United Skates of America, the Seaford based roller rink is hosting a family New Year's Eve Party from 5;30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $20 per person and includes skate rental, unlimited pizza, chips and pretzels as well as ten game tokens a light rope necklace, and noisemakers. There will also be an early countdown to the "New Year."  Call 516-795-5474.

Massapequa Bowl, will have a family fun day at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at $100 per lane, Lanes will cost $125 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Included will be unlimited bowling on glow in the dark lanes, and shoe rental. There will also be a pizza party and a non-alcoholic champagne toast. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., there will be a family and couples evening bash with unlimited bowling and shoe rental, party music, hot buffet and soft drinks, as well as  party hats and noisemakers. Call-516-680-6061.


Sergio's, the Italian restaurant in Massapequa will celebrate the new year with Elvis music and dancing from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. it costs $60 per person including beer, wine, soda, tax and gratuity. There will be a champagne toast at midnight as well as noisemakers and hats. Call 516-541-6554.
