Crime Report: Stolen Catalytic Converters, Verizon Store Burglarized

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department's Seventh Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate a conviction.

  • On Jan. 3, Leocadia S Troy-Ayala, 19, of North Bellmore was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Jones Avenue in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated.
  • Catalytic converters from two Pathfinders and one Xterra were discovered stolen from Massapequa Nissan on 3660 Sunrise Hwy, Seaford on Jan. 5.
  • The Verizon Wireless store on 3484 Merrick Rd., Seaford was burglarized on Jan. 5 with assorted cell phones stolen. Glass on the store’s front door was also broken from the burglary’s point of entry.
  • A woman on Spruce Street in Wantagh discovered the driver side window of her 2007 black Honda Accord broken with a GPS stolen on Jan. 5.
  • On Jan. 6, James J Barbosa, 21, of Levittown was arrested on Wantagh Avenue near Laurel Lane in Wantagh and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and one vehicle and traffic law violation.
  • On Jan. 7, Thomas E Smith, 20, of Islip Terrace was arrested on Railroad Avenue in Wantagh and charged with disorderly conduct.
  • An attempted burglary occurred at a home on Manchester Road in Wantagh on Jan. 8. The attempted point of entry into the home was through a window.
  • On Jan. 9, Oscar A Wagenbuchler, 37, of North Bellmore was arrested on Merrick Road near Riverside Drive in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and five vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • Two tires and rims were reported stolen from a 2010 black Honda Accord parked on Atlantic View Avenue in Seaford on Jan. 9.
