Crime Report: Stolen Mountain Bike, Profanities Written on Swing Set

Recent incident reports in Wantagh and Seaford from the 7th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department's Seventh Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

  • On Oct. 11, Heather A Buccino, 38,  of Bay Shore was arrested at the headquarters in Seaford and charged with leaving the scene of an incident without a report.
  • The passenger side window of a 2008 blue Ford Focus parked on Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh was discovered broken on Oct., 11 with a pocketbook, money and a digital camera stolen from inside the vehicle.
  • A mountain bike was reported stolen on Oct. 12 on Franklin Avenue in Seaford.
  • On Oct. 14, Peter R Stergakos, 30, of Massapequa was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Morris Gate in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and one vehicle and traffic law violation.
  • A woman on Riverside Drive in Wantagh reported discovering missing property from different locations in her house on Oct. 14.
  • A GPS was reported stolen from a tan 2004 Pontiac parked on Hilaire Way in Seaford on Oct. 14.
  • Damage was reported to heavy construction equipment in in Seaford on Oct. 15.
  • A public safety officer discovered profanities written on a swing set at the intersection of Duckpond Drive East and Dell Lane in Wantagh on Oct. 16.
  • Property was reported stolen from a 2008 gray Toyota parked on Dragon Lane in Wantagh on Oct. 16.
  • A camera was reported stolen from a 2002 red GMC parked on Ralph Street in Seaford on Oct. 16.
