Fight Escalates With Hammer Attack To Head At Nassau Home: Police
Mark Moran faces counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
SEAFORD, NY — An altercation early Sunday in Seaford led to an assault arrest. Mark Moran, 61, of Massapequa, hit the 64-year-old victim multiple times with a hammer, police said.
The victim suffered deep lacerations to the head. He was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The incident took place at a Spruce Street residence just after 2:30 a.m. The two men knew each other, police said.

Police said the hammer was recovered and Moran was placed under arrest without incident. He was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Moran was arraigned on Sunday at District Court in Hempstead.
