Former Major League Baseball Players to Headline Seaford Baseball/Softball Clinic
Frank Catalanotto and Allen Watson to be among instructors at Oct. 15 clinic raising funds for cut Seaford Middle School sports teams.

Two former Major League Baseball (MLB) players will headline a Seaford Little League Baseball/Softball Clinic taking place Oct. 15. Proceeds from the event will go toward Save Seaford Sports, an organization to raising the $141,000 needed to restore the winter and spring athletic seasons after they were cut from the budget.
Among the instructors scheduled to appear at the Oct. 15 clinic taking place in are former MLB players Frank Catalanotto and Allen Watson. Catalanotto, a Smithtown native, had a 14-year MLB career with the Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers. Watson was an eight-year MLB player with the St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Anaheim Angels, New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners and the Mets.
Other baseball instructors scheduled to appear at the clinic include former minor league baseball players Bryan Goelz, B.J. LaMura and Joe Durso, who is also a board member with the Seaford Little League. Local baseball coaches offering instruction at the clinic include Mike Milano ( head coach), Jamie Adams (Seaford junior varsity head coach), Doug Robbins (New Hyde Park High School head coach) and Tim Coakley (assistant coach at Plainview-JFK).

The softball instructors at the Seaford clinic will be highlighted by Lafayette College pitcher Chrissy Hilcken, a former standout at Seaford High School. Other college softball players scheduled to appear at the clinic include Louie Python (Moravian College), Ashley Esposito (SUNY Old Westbury), Danielle Kozlowski (Sacred Heart University) player and Katie Trotta (Catholic University).
The Oct. 15 clinic, which is scheduled to last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is open to all boys and girls ages 4-17. Cost for the clinic is $25 with all proceeds going toward Save Seaford Sports.
