WANTAGH, NY — A fundraiser will be held next month in honor of NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller, who was killed on duty earlier this year.

This fundraiser will help students pursue their education at St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, where Diller attended high school.

"Jonathan always talked so fondly about his time there and he always was involved in sports and was very active and that’s what made him into the person he was," said his widow Stephanie Diller. "I want the scholarship to go to someone who is just like Jonathan and to have that experience and to continue for people to become like him… We need more of Jonathan in the world."
