May 2: Body Search Expands, Baseball, Softball
What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

1. The start of the work week will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature near 59 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
2. New York State Police will close Wantagh State Parkway from Ocean Parkway to Merrick Road starting at 9 a.m. today as part of the continuing Gilgo beach bodies . It’s the first time search efforts have expanded north of the barrier beach area and beyond Ocean Parkway since the discovery of 10 bodies in the Gilgo and Jones Beach areas in the past four months. Stay tuned to Wantagh-Seaford Patch for the latest information on road closures as a result of the body search.
3. The softball team hosts Glen Cove today starting at 4:30 p.m.

4. The baseball team begins a three game series versus Mineola today. The Vikings (10-3) will be at Mineola today for a 4:45 p.m. first pitch.
