Man Stabbed During Attempted Robbery in Wantagh

detectives are investigating a Friday night attempted robbery in Wantagh that resulted in a man being stabbed.

According to detectives, a man was approached in the vicinity of Railroad Avenue and Grove Street by two unknown men that demanded money. After the man refused to give the money he was punched in the right side of his abdomen. The two male suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction without any proceeds.

The victim later realized he had been stabbed and was treated at a local area hospital for a puncture wound to his abdomen.
