Ryan Sliwak Selected for Grand Slam Challenge
Wantagh senior second baseman will play in annual high school baseball all-star game June 10.

senior second baseman Ryan Sliwak has been selected to play in this year's RTC Rawlings Grand Slam Challenge.
The game, which pits the top high school baseball players in Nassau County against the best from Suffolk, will take place at Farmingdale State on Friday at 7 p.m.
Sliwak had a stellar baseball career at Wantagh and led the Warriors to a Long Island championship last season. Sliwak also excelled at football for the Warriors as a standout wide receiver and was selected to play for the Long Island all stars in the United Healthcare Empire Challenge against New York City on June 21 at Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium.

Suffolk County, which will be coached by Patchogue-Medford's Anthony Frascogna, leads the all-time Grand Slam Challenge series, 5-1. The Nassau County team will be coached by East Meadow High School’s Ken Sicoli.
