Seaford Harbor School Needs Votes to Win New Playground Equipment

Local elementary school is a nominee in The Clorox Company's Power A Bright Future contest.

The has been cast as a nominee for a grant contest set up by The Clorox Company aimed at funding programs that help children to play, create and explore.

The Seaford Harbor School PTA entered the contest in an effort to raise money for the purchase of new playground equipment. The grand prize in the contest if $50,000 with grants of $25,000 also available.

According to the Seaford Harbor School PTA’s submission, around 100 kindergarten students at the school do not have playground equipment to enjoy at recess or an adequate blacktop to play on. PTA leaders are hoping for a safe, modern playground to be installed along with a redone blacktop. The submission says that the PTA decided to enter the contest because of the district not having funds to allocate toward improving playground conditions because of operating on a following two spending plan rejections by voters in and .

The online voting contest began on Oct. 24 and lasts until Dec. 9. To vote for Seaford Harbor School’s submission, click here. Votes for Seaford Harbor School can also be cast by texting clorox1228 to 44144.

The entry that receives the most votes will receive the $50,000 grand prize. The submissions with the second most votes in the Play, Create and Explore categories and one submission chosen by a Clorox judging panel will each receive $25,000 grants.
