The has been awarded a $38,000 grant from Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation to be used toward a new playground.

The Seaford elementary school plans to use the grant money to build a play structure for kindergarteners and first graders that appeals to all students and their various learning styles. This will include bells and chimes for auditory learners and a playground structure that incorporates different colors and designs for students who have a more visual learning style. There will also be numbers and counting areas in the playground for students who have a mathematical learning style and structures that move and turn for students more tactile learners.

The grant from Lowe’s comes after the Seaford Harbor School has been without a kindergarten playground for the past year when it had to be taken down for safety concerns.
