According to police detectives, Edward Danzinger,47, and Boris Jairala, 32, were taken into custody at the corner of Merrick Road and Pine Street after fleeing the scene of the alleged robbery in a 2001 green Kia.

The Seventh Precinct was dispatched to the scene. According to police, one of the officers saw the vehicle flee the scene, but the vehicle drove past him as he attempted to stop it. Danzinger and Jairala then allegedly led police on a chase, running stop signs and side-swiping a car.
The chase stopped when Danzinger, who was driving the vehicle, crashed into a car stopped at a red light in the right lane of Merrick Road at Beech Street, according to police. Jairala attempted to flee but was apprehended by police. Police allege that Danzinger resisted arrest at the scene of the accident before he was also placed into custody.
