Top Fire and Accident Stories of 2013

In 2013 we saw a fiery spectacular crash in a neighboring town that shut off a major roadway. We also saw our share of tragedies.

Here's a look back:

• A huge tanker fire in Bellmore wreaked havoc on Sunrise Highway.
• A pedestrian was killed on Merrick Road in Seaford in February.
• A Wantagh man also lost his life in a motorcycle crash on the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway in May.
• The Seaford-Oyster Bay was also the scene of a spectacular car fire  in January.
• A car crashed into a Seaford home in September.
