Voters Approve Wantagh Public Library Budget
$2.2 million spending plan passes by 26 votes.

Voters approved the proposed budget last night by a slim margin.
The library’s $2.2 million budget passed by 26 votes, 112 to 86. The spending plan represents a 2.34 percent budget-to-budget increase.
Wantagh Public Library director Maggie Marino said the increase to the budget will be used mainly for building renovations and allowing expanded community programs. “I would just like to thank the community for supporting the library” said Marino after the budget passed.

Also on the ballot Tuesday was incumbent Wantagh Public Library trustee Michael Geniale, who ran unopposed and garnered 138 votes for a new five-year term.
