Wantagh Artists Celebrated at Festival
Wantagh School District held its annual art festival.
Several hundred works featuring top student-artists from Wantagh High School and Wantagh Middle School were on display during the district’s annual Art Festival.
Many of the photographs, drawings, paintings and sculptures were previously selected for exhibitions and scholarships across Long Island, including the Art Supervisors Association All-County exhibit, the Long Island’s Best Young Artists Exhibition at the Heckscher Museum, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards contest, the Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar Artists Program and more. In addition, Advanced Placement students were on hand to describe and answer questions about their individual galleries.
Supervisor of Fine and Performing Arts Kelly Good described the quality of work being displayed as gallery-worthy. “It is fascinating to see the culmination of a year’s work and what was created,” she said. “Every year the bar is set higher.”
