Wantagh Gymnast Places High in State Meet
Eleven-year old Julie Giardina finishes third overall and takes first place on the uneven bars at competition held in Buffalo.
sixth grader Julie Giardina recently took third place honors during the New York State Gymnastics Championships in Buffalo.
Giardina, 11, finished in third place overall among all girls her age group and also finished first in the uneven bars competition. The meet held on April 30 consisted of around 70 gymnasts from across the state.
Giardina’s third place overall finish consisted of a total score of 37.85. She scored a 9.6 out of 10 on the uneven bars to take first in the state. Her other scores included 9.575 on the balance beam (fourth place), 9.5 on the floor exercise (sixth place) and 9.175 on the vault (fourth place).
