Police: Wantagh Woman Stole $17,560 from Macy's Cash Vault

Detectives said Deanna Davis committed multiple larcenies from from her employer at Macy's in Massapequa.

A Wantagh woman was arrested by detectives Friday and charged with stealing thousands of dollars from her employer at Macy’s in Massapequa.

According to detectives, Deanna Davis, 47, of Wantagh was employed as an office associate by Macy’s at the Sunrise Mall in Massapequa. Beginning on June 6, 2011 and continuing until her arrest Friday, Davis stole a total of $17,560 from the store’s cash vault, detectives said.

In an attempt to conceal the larcenies, Davis falsified Macy’s business records, according to detectives. Davis’s actions were uncovered after an internal investigation by the Macy’s loss prevention department.

Davis is being charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records. She will be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
