1 Train Service Resumes In Upper Manhattan: Expect Delays

The 1 train service is back up and running uptown Monday after a person went on the tracks, but expect delays in both directions.

UPDATE: 3:45 p.m.

Service on the 1 train line has resumed Monday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. between 137th Street-City College and 215th Street after NYPD responded to an unauthorized person on the tracks at 168th Street in Washington Heights, according to the MTA.

The train line was suspended for around an hour.

The MTA says to still expect delays in both directions on the 1 train as it gets back on schedule.


WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — If you have plans Monday afternoon to take the train in Upper Manhattan, avoid the 1 train.

The 1 train is suspended as of 3 p.m. Monday between 137th Street-City College and 215th Street in both directions while the NYPD responds to an unauthorized person on the tracks at West 168th Street in Washington Heights, according to the MTA.

The MTA says to expect major delays in both directions on the train line.

For service between 145th Street and Christopher Street, take the A, B, C, or D train, which you can get from 168th Street, 59th Street-Columbus Circle or 42nd Street-Bryant Park.
