140-Foot Tower For Nearly 500 Residents Set For Inwood: Permit
In the months after the Inwood rezoning project was approved, new building permits continue to roll in for the Upper Manhattan neighborhood.

INWOOD, NY — Patch reported last week that a new building permit for a 17-story tower at 405 West 206th Street was processed with the city. The plans said the development would encompass the entire block along Ninth Avenue from West 206th to West 207th Streets.
An additional permit filed in the past few days shines a light on the other structure that will join the 17-story tower in the Inwood lot.
The new permit calls for a 14-story mixed-use building at 407 West 206th Street.

While the building is expected to be three stories shorter than the adjacent incoming 17-story tower previously reported on, this building is expected to house double the residents.
Permits say the building expected at 407 West 206th Street will most likely house 470 residents, which is significantly more than the 194 residents expected at the 405 West 206th Street building.

Permits for the new 14-story tower show the building will be 140-feet tall, 575,721 total square feet, with 401,367 square feet designated for residential space, 160,128 square feet for community facility space, and 14,226 square feet for commercial space.
Beyer Blinder Belle, who is also listed as the architect for 405 West 206th Street, will be the architect for the 407 West 206th Street tower too.
There is no demolition permit for the current structure at 405-407 West 206th Street and no timeline for the completion of the two incoming towers.
