2-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Washington Heights, FDNY Says
The fire started in the top floor of a building on West 184th Street and spread to the area between the roof.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — It took more than 100 firefighters about two hours to contain a 2-alarm fire in a Washington Heights apartment building early Monday morning, an FDNY spokesman said.
The fire broke out in the top floor of 612 W. 184th St., a five-story apartment building located between Wadsworth and St. Nicholas avenues, around 2:45 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said.
Firefighters responding to the scene noticed that the blaze had spread to the building's cockloft — an area between the top floor ceiling and the roof — prompting the FDNY to activate a second-alarm response.
