$400 Apartments Up For Grabs In Affordable Inwood Building

INWOOD, NY — Uptowners have a chance to win the New York City housing lottery and snag an apartment that costs less than $400 a month, city records show.

The Eliza at 4790 Broadway has 138 of its 173 units listed on the city's affordable housing lottery with rents ranging between $397 and $1,841, depending on size and income.

The cheapest units are reserved for people earning 30 percent of the area median income:

  • Four $397-a-month studios are available to households earning between $16,183 and $33,900 a year.
  • Eight $503-a-month one-bedrooms are available to households earning between $20,160 and $38,130 a year.
  • Four $598-a-month two-bedrooms are available to households earning between $24,27 and $45,750 a year.
  • One $683-a-month three-bedroom is available to households earning between $28,080and $52,530 a year.

Prices increase with AMI and top out with four three-bedroom apartments that cost $1,841 and are reserved for households earning between $67,783 and $105,060.

The elevator building boasts its own New York Public Library branch, a universal Pre-K program, a rooftop lounge, laundry room and gym.

Half the units are reserved for residents of Community Board 12, 5 percent for city employees and seven percent for people with vision, hearing and mobility disabilities.
