WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A married couple from Georgia is facing charges after police found a large cache of guns in their car during a traffic stop on the George Washington Bridge, a Port Authority Police spokeswoman said.

Terry Gooden, 60, and Tonya Gooden, 57, were arrested Tuesday night and charged with unlawful possession of weapons, police said. Terry was hit with an additional charge of impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Port Authority Police Officer Brian Gleason pulled the couple over near the approach of the upper level of the George Washington Bridge around 7 p.m., police said. After police noticed Terry Gooden was armed he handed them a Georgia Firearms Identification Card and told them he was a law enforcement officer traveling to Connecticut, police said.
