WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa held a press conference and rally in Washington Heights on Tuesday to "rally his Democratic supporters" and debut a television ad — "Democrats for Sliwa."
The press conference took place at 11 a.m. at Plaza de Americas at West 175th Street and Broadway. You can re-watch a livestream of the event on Sliwa's Facebook page.
"Today's special significance is that we are launching, Democrats for Sliwa," the mayoral candidate said at the beginning of his remarks. "There are a number of men and women throughout the city who have contacted us, and said they are just not on board with their candidate Eric Adams, and they have chosen to join Democrats for Sliwa."

Quinones is a NYCHA tenant leader who received publicity in 2020 after appearing in a Republican National Convention video during then-President Donald Trump's reelection bid.
