Dominican Film Festival Kicks Off In Washington Heights: Schedule
The Dominican Film Festival will run from Tuesday through Saturday. Here's what to know.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The 10th Annual Dominican Film Festival kicks off in Washington Heights on Tuesday evening.
A screening of "No Es Lo Que Parece" will take place at the United Palace Theater on 4140 Broadway, between West 175th and 176th Streets, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
The rest of the screenings will take place at the Regal Theater on 247 West 42nd Street.

"The Dominican Film Festival in New York (DFFNYC) was founded by Armando Guareno in 2012 and has developed into one of the larger and well-respected Latino film festivals in the country," reads a description of the festival on its website. "DFFNYC is the only official festival that promotes Dominican cinemas and filmmakers in the Diaspra in the USA and Canada."
The featured films in the 2021 rendition of the festival include "Atravesando El Jordan," "La Rasante," "Una Pelicula Caribe Pop," and "Guayabo." You can check out the full list of featured films here.

The festival will close on Saturday with the world premiere of "La Bruja," which will be aired at the Regal Theater.
The festival's sponsors include Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez's office, NYC Media & Entertainment, PIX 11, and the Dominican Republic Film Commission.
