Fire Breaks Out In Apartment Of Wash Heights Building: FDNY

A blaze ignited in a building at 187 Pinehurst Avenue on Monday afternoon that caused all tenants to evacuate, the FDNY told Patch.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A fire took place Monday afternoon at a residential building on 187 Pinehurst Avenue in Washington Heights, the FDNY told Patch.

The flames ignited within a second-floor apartment of the five-story building around 4:18 p.m., FDNY said.

The blaze was placed under control at 4:56 p.m. by the 60 firefighters that responded, FDNY added.

There were no injuries.

While nobody was physically hurt, multiple tenants of the second-floor apartment at 187 Pinehurst Avenue took to community Facebook groups Monday afternoon to say that they lost a substantial amount of belongings in the flames.
