WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A frightening blaze broke out on the top floor of a 32-story high rise in Washington Heights on Wednesday night.

The fire ignited around 9:30 p.m. at the top of a building at 111 Wadsworth Avenue, which is in between West 178th and 179th Streets, an FDNY spokesperson said.

Since the flames were located at the top of the building, the smoke didn't make its way down to other floors in the high rise.
