'Give Me Everything': Gunpoint Robbery In Washington Heights

A gun-toting robber took $9,000 from a man exiting his car in Washington Heights and shot him twice, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY —A 33-year-old man was exiting his Cadillac Escalade recently in Washington Heights when a man approached him with a gun demanding money, the New York Police Department said.

"Give me everything you got," the gun-toting robber said.

The robbery took place at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, opposite 910 Riverside Drive, near West 162nd Street, police said.

The robber proceeded to remove $9,000 from the car's center console, at which point the 33-year-old made a play for the man's gun, police said.

A struggle ensued that eventually led to the robber shooting the man twice in the leg before fleeing south on Riverside Drive, police said.

Emergency services responded to the scene and took the 33-year-old to Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.

Police released a photo over the weekend of the man wanted in connection to the robbery and shooting.
